In 2013, Amit K Thakur arrived in Mumbai with little more than a suitcase, a few thousand rupees, and a head full of dreams. Like many drawn to the city of ambition, he came with the hope of making it big—but what set him apart was his unwavering determination and strategic mindset.
After years of observing, learning, and building quiet connections, Amit took his first leap in 2017 by launching WeCAN Event & Entertainment, marking his entry into Mumbai’s live event scene. The company gained traction, but Amit had his sights set higher.
In 2023, with an investment of just ₹3.5 lakhs, he founded Y2M Sound & Lights Pvt. Ltd.—a bold venture into sound and lighting production. What started modestly soon became his core focus. From late nights perfecting sound setups to delivering top-tier equipment within tight budgets, Amit’s dedication quickly began to pay off.
In less than a year, Y2M was valued at over ₹2 crores, becoming a trusted name for concerts, corporate events, and large-scale productions. The growth wasn’t fueled by legacy or luck—it was built on grit, technical excellence, and the relentless pursuit of quality.
Now, Amit is expanding beyond Mumbai, with Pen, Maharashtra as his next step and plans for nationwide growth. With India’s event industry booming, Y2M is poised to become a go-to name for sound production.
