The story of Go Zero started with a shift Kiran Shah noticed in the ice cream demand: people wanted to indulge, but without the guilt of sugar. Today, it is India’s no.1 guilt-free ice cream brand.
Kiran Shah joined his family business, Apsara Ice Creams, and helped scale it from 1 outlet to 100+ stores. But after building the business and learning the ice cream industry from the inside, he chose to walk away and start something entirely new.
While at Apsara, he noticed a growing shift in consumer behaviour. People still loved ice cream, but were increasingly conscious of the sugar they were consuming, with demand for zero-added-sugar options steadily rising.

He saw an opportunity to turn that shift into a brand of its own. He left Apsara behind, started from scratch, and founded Go Zero in 2022.
He didn’t just bet on quick commerce. He built Go Zero around it
Kiran saw early that quick commerce would fundamentally change how consumers discover and buy FMCG products. Instead of treating it as just another distribution channel, Go Zero made quick commerce a core part of its growth strategy, scaling across platforms like Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart.

He has been featured on podcasts like Think School, Barber Shop, and Sanjay Kathuria, where he has shared his journey, the ice cream industry and his conviction around quick commerce. And he took it a step further. Through Think School’s Quick Commerce Accelerator, Kiran brought his experience directly to other D2C founders, teaching them how to build and scale on quick commerce instead of simply talking about its potential.
One of Shark Tank India’s standout success stories
Kiran Shah’s appearance on Shark Tank India Season 4 became a major milestone for Go Zero. His pitch brought the brand’s zero-added-sugar ice cream to a national audience, while his experience in the category caught the attention of the Sharks.
Anupam Mittal recognised Kiran as a strong “founder-market fit” for the ice cream industry, given his experience scaling his family’s Apsara Ice Creams. Kiran ultimately brought Aman Gupta on board as an investor on the show.
The story continued beyond the Tank. Namita Thapar, who wasn’t present during his pitch, later expressed her admiration for Go Zero’s growth and invested in the company off-air.

What started as a Shark Tank pitch went on to become one of the show’s notable consumer-brand success stories, with Go Zero continuing its rapid growth across India.
A Founder Who Builds in Public

He also shares his take on important news, trends and business stories, adding his own perspective to conversations beyond Go Zero.
Through podcasts like Think School, Barber Shop and Sanjay Kathuria, and initiatives like the Quick Commerce Accelerator, he continues to share what he has learned and help other founders build and scale.
From India’s #1 guilt-free ice cream brand to India’s #1 ice cream brand
Go Zero has already established itself as India’s #1 guilt-free ice cream brand. Now, Kiran’s ambition is bigger: to take Go Zero beyond the better-for-you category and make it India’s #1 ice cream brand.
With a growing presence across Blinkit, Zepto and Swiggy Instamart, and a business that has crossed ₹100 Cr in net revenue, the next chapter is about making zero added sugar ice cream India’s habit.
The goal is no longer just to make guilt-free ice cream mainstream. It is to make Go Zero the first name India thinks of when it thinks of ice cream.
