Zoho Launches Game-Changing POS Devices in India; Arattai to Integrate with Zoho Pay Soon

Zoho Makes a Bold Move Into Hardware

In a move that could reshape India’s fintech landscape, Zoho has unveiled its very own point-of-sale (POS) devices, marking the company’s first foray into in-person payment solutions. The announcement was made at the Global Fintech Fest 2025, organised by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council.

The launch comes on the heels of Zoho’s 2024-launched Zoho Payments platform, a unified gateway designed to help businesses accept payments securely. Now, Zoho is moving beyond digital payments to provide merchants with physical devices that handle payments, billing, and receipts, creating an integrated ecosystem that bridges offline and online business operations.

POS Devices Packed With Features

Zoho’s new POS devices are not just ordinary card readers. They come with a suite of features aimed at streamlining business operations and making payments frictionless:

  • Tap, dip, and swipe card payments, supporting all major debit and credit cards
  • UPI payments via static and dynamic QR codes
  • Built-in billing and receipt printing, reducing dependency on separate hardware
  • Barcode scanning for easy inventory and sales tracking
  • Sound-enabled QR devices, confirming payments instantly

These devices are designed to help businesses reduce operational complexity, speed up transactions, and connect seamlessly with Zoho’s accounting, payroll, and billing software.

Sivaramakrishnan Iswaran, CEO of Zoho Payment Technologies, explained that the initiative is part of Zoho’s broader vision to unify fragmented business processes under a single ecosystem. By linking collections, payouts, and reconciliation with Zoho’s suite of products, businesses can now manage finance, operations, and payments in one integrated system.

Arattai Integration: The Future of AI-Driven Payments

Adding another layer to its fintech ecosystem, Zoho revealed that Arattai, its conversational AI platform, will soon integrate with Zoho Pay. This integration will allow businesses to manage payments, customer queries, and operational workflows directly through AI, making processes faster and more intelligent.

With Arattai, businesses can now:

  • Track payments in real time
  • Automate customer communication
  • Streamline reconciliation
  • Generate insights from transaction data

The integration of AI tools like Arattai with Zoho Pay signals a shift towards next-generation business management, where payments and operations are not just automated but intelligent and responsive.

Swadeshi Tech Gets a Boost

The launch also aligns with India’s Swadeshi push, encouraging homegrown technology solutions. By developing its own POS devices and software ecosystem, Zoho is reducing dependency on foreign hardware and creating a robust, locally-developed fintech infrastructure.

This move could be a game-changer for small and medium businesses in India, which often struggle with fragmented financial systems and multiple service providers. Zoho’s unified approach provides a one-stop solution, bringing together payments, accounting, payroll, and AI-powered support in a single platform.

Why This Matters for Businesses

For businesses, the new Zoho POS devices offer more than just a way to accept payments. They provide:

  • Operational efficiency: No need for multiple devices or software; everything is integrated
  • Faster transactions: Tap, swipe, UPI, and QR codes accepted in seconds
  • Enhanced customer experience: Instant confirmation with sound-enabled devices and AI support
  • Automated financial management: Direct integration with Zoho’s accounting and payroll systems

Small merchants, in particular, will benefit from the simplified setup and automation, reducing the time and effort spent on manual reconciliation and reporting.

Expanding the Zoho Ecosystem

The POS devices are just the beginning of Zoho’s strategy to expand its payments ecosystem. The company has hinted at additional product launches and integrations later this year, aimed at further strengthening its presence in India and the broader fintech space.

By combining hardware, software, and AI, Zoho is positioning itself as a complete financial management platform for businesses, offering everything from payment acceptance to accounting and operational insights.

The Big Picture

Zoho’s entry into POS devices reflects a broader trend in fintech: the convergence of digital and physical payments. As more businesses demand seamless, integrated solutions, companies that can offer hardware, software, and AI-driven services under one roof will gain a competitive edge.

With the addition of Arattai AI integration, Zoho is not just responding to market demand—it’s shaping the future of business finance in India. By linking payments to intelligent operations and customer management, Zoho is creating a holistic ecosystem that simplifies every aspect of running a business.

Looking Ahead

As India’s digital payments market continues to grow, Zoho’s POS devices and AI-powered ecosystem could become the go-to solution for businesses seeking efficiency, integration, and innovation.

With Arattai integration, Swadeshi tech, and unified payment systems, Zoho is setting a new benchmark in fintech, ensuring that businesses can accept payments, manage operations, and leverage AI—all from a single platform.

The company’s strategy signals a bold new era where technology, finance, and AI converge to make business simpler, faster, and smarter.
