In the fast-paced construction industry, procurement challenges often lead to project delays and budget overruns. Many stakeholders, including project managers and subcontractors, face issues such as fragmented communication and outdated manual processes, significantly impacting project timelines and costs.
Recognizing these critical inefficiencies, Aravind Maroju founded ProcureX Technologies in February 2024. His mission: to leverage technology to streamline construction procurement processes. “I noticed several inefficiencies in procurement—poor communication, lack of transparency, and time-consuming tasks,” Maroju reflects.
A Vision for Change
With the help of co-founders Narsi Reddy Posham, Thej Kiran Bitta, and Bharath Reddy Deveram, Maroju aimed to create an AI-driven platform that automates procurement, making it easier for construction firms to manage projects effectively. Narsi Reddy, an experienced entrepreneur with a background in technology, complements Maroju’s vision by bringing expertise in business growth.
Innovative AI Solutions
ProcureX addresses the industry’s pressing procurement challenges. The platform automates repetitive tasks like order creation and invoice processing, reducing manual errors and speeding up procurement cycles. “AI can revolutionize construction procurement through predictive analytics, smarter decision-making, and enhanced supplier evaluation,” Maroju explains.
By centralizing procurement activities, ProcureX improves communication and collaboration among stakeholders, providing real-time data access and supplier performance metrics. This transparency allows for better decision-making and resource management.
Funding and Market Expansion
Recently, ProcureX Technologies raised nearly $1 million in seed funding, valuing the company at $5 million. With 15 active buyers and partnerships with 150 suppliers, the startup has expanded operations to four states, including Telangana and Kerala, with plans to enter international markets like the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Commitment to Innovation
Maroju emphasizes the importance of research and development (R&D) in keeping the platform relevant. ProcureX is exploring emerging technologies, including blockchain and IoT, to enhance its offerings further. “We prioritize R&D to explore technologies that can elevate our AI capabilities,” he says.
Achievements and Future Goals
Since its launch, ProcureX has made significant strides, reporting a 5-7% reduction in procurement costs and a 20% decrease in project delays. Users have noted a 30% reduction in administrative tasks, allowing teams to focus on strategic decision-making.
Looking ahead, ProcureX aims to become a leader in the construction procurement space by expanding its user base and continuously innovating its platform. “Our long-term vision is to empower construction professionals with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape,” Maroju concludes.
