Bengaluru-based MiniPix, a mobile-first entertainment platform specializing in short-form micro-dramas for Bharat audiences, has raised Rs 2.4 crore in its maiden pre-seed funding round. The round was led by startup accelerator PedalStart and saw participation from Venture Catalysts, as well as prominent investors Sandip Gupta and Rajdip Gupta, founders of Route Mobile, through SanRaj Family Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
Focusing on Bharat Audiences
MiniPix focuses on producing bite-sized regional stories designed for mobile consumption, aiming to engage audiences beyond metro cities with content in their local languages. By catering to Bharat users, the platform seeks to fill a gap in short-form entertainment that resonates culturally and linguistically with a broader Indian audience.
Plans for Fund Utilization
The startup plans to utilize the capital to:
-
Strengthen product-market fit
-
Scale high-quality regional content creation
-
Build a strong, execution-focused team
The investment will help MiniPix expand its reach while continuing to develop engaging and relatable stories for diverse regional audiences.
Growing Interest in Regional Short-Form Content
MiniPix’s seed funding reflects growing investor interest in regional content platforms that cater to India’s vast non-metro market. Short-form storytelling is increasingly popular among mobile-first users, and startups like MiniPix are positioned to leverage this trend with culturally relevant and accessible entertainment.
With the new funds, MiniPix aims to scale operations, attract talent, and deliver a sustainable platform that connects creators with audiences across India’s regional markets.
