Gig Worker Startup Nia.one Raises $2.4 Million to Revolutionize Migrant Work

Bengaluru-Based Startup Secures Seed Funding from Impact Investor

Nia.one, a gig worker infrastructure startup, has raised $2.4 million (around Rs 21.3 crore) in seed funding from impact investor Elevar Equity. Founded in 2024 by Chhabra and Lt. Col. Pushkar Raj, the Bengaluru-based startup is already making waves with its full-stack phygital platform designed to empower migrant and gig workers across India.

The fresh capital will help Nia.one accelerate the rollout of its hubs, called Niadels, in key employment corridors across Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Pune, while expanding its AI technology layer, Rafiki, and bringing in new talent to support its rapid growth.

Niadels: A New Ecosystem for Gig Workers

Nia.one’s Niadels aim to provide migrant and gig workers with a full ecosystem that goes beyond jobs. The hubs offer verified employment opportunities, accommodation, meals, mobility, and basic essentials, with the goal of transforming short-term migration into long-term stability.

By combining digital and physical infrastructure, Nia.one is addressing the challenges that gig workers face in urban centers, from housing to finding reliable jobs. The startup is creating a model that supports workers’ well-being while improving job retention and income stability.

Rafiki: AI-Powered Support for Workers

At the heart of Nia.one’s platform is Rafiki, an AI assistant that collects data on workers’ skills, experience, and preferences to match them with suitable job opportunities.

The AI layer helps workers navigate urban migration by providing personalized recommendations, improving job satisfaction, retention rates, and savings. By leveraging data-driven insights, Nia.one ensures workers are not only placed in jobs but also have access to resources that enhance their long-term stability.

Scaling Ambitions and Market Potential

With the new funding, Nia.one plans to expand Niadel hubs across major employment corridors and strengthen its AI capabilities. The startup aims to tap into the growing gig economy, which has become a vital part of India’s workforce, particularly in urban centers.

Investors like Elevar Equity are betting on Nia.one’s potential to create meaningful social impact by supporting migrant workers and improving labor mobility infrastructure.

Why Nia.one Is a Game-Changer

Nia.one’s approach is unique because it combines technology, infrastructure, and social impact in a single platform. By providing holistic support to gig workers, the startup addresses critical issues such as worker retention, financial stability, and safe migration.

As urban migration continues to rise, solutions like Nia.one could reshape how gig work is organized, offering a more sustainable and worker-friendly ecosystem.

The Road Ahead

Nia.one is positioned to become a leading player in the gig worker ecosystem in India. By scaling Niadels, enhancing AI tools like Rafiki, and attracting top talent, the startup is setting the stage for long-term growth and impact.

With $2.4 million in seed funding, Nia.one is not just building a platform—it’s redefining urban migration and gig work for millions of workers.
