India’s fast-growing streetwear fashion brand Bonkers Corner has raised Rs 95 crore (around $10.5 million) in a Series A funding round. The round was led by India SME Investment Fund and also saw participation from several well-known investors, including Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar.
The funding marks a major milestone for the Mumbai-based clothing brand as it looks to strengthen its position in India’s growing streetwear and youth fashion market.
With the fresh capital, Bonkers Corner is expected to expand its product offerings, strengthen its omnichannel presence, and reach more customers across India.
India SME Investment Fund Leads the Round
The largest investment in the round came from India SME Investment Fund, a private equity firm focused on supporting small and medium-sized businesses in India.
The firm invested Rs 64.5 crore (around $7.15 million), making it the lead investor in the round.
Other investors also joined the funding round. Radhakrishna Ramnarain Pvt Ltd invested Rs 17.8 crore, while investor Rajesh Raheja contributed Rs 3 crore.
More than 20 additional investors, including several angel investors, also participated in the round, highlighting growing investor interest in India’s fashion and lifestyle startup sector.
Namita Thapar Completes Her Shark Tank Investment
One of the notable investors in the funding round is Namita Thapar, executive director at Emcure Pharmaceuticals and a well-known judge on the business reality show Shark Tank India.
Thapar invested Rs 50 lakh through her investment firm Thapar Vision LLP.
This investment completes the Rs 1.5 crore commitment she had previously made to Bonkers Corner during the startup’s appearance on Shark Tank India.
Her continued backing adds credibility to the brand and reflects her confidence in the company’s growth potential.
The Story Behind Bonkers Corner
Bonkers Corner was founded in 2020 by entrepreneur Shubham Gupta.
The brand was created to cater to the growing demand for trendy, comfortable, and affordable streetwear among India’s younger consumers.
Over the past few years, streetwear has become one of the fastest-growing segments in the fashion industry, driven by Gen Z and millennial shoppers who prefer casual, expressive clothing styles.
Bonkers Corner focuses on bold designs and relaxed fits that appeal to this audience.
Popular Products in the Bonkers Corner Collection
The brand offers a wide range of fashion products for both men and women. Its collection includes:
Oversized graphic T-shirts
Hoodies and sweatshirts
Gym and activewear
Co-ord sets
Casual streetwear essentials
Oversized fashion and graphic apparel have become particularly popular among younger shoppers, helping brands like Bonkers Corner build a strong identity in the competitive fashion market.
Strong Revenue Growth for the Fashion Startup
Bonkers Corner has shown steady financial growth as it expands its presence across online and offline channels.
For the financial year ending March 2025, the company reported operating revenue of Rs 123 crore.
This represents a 23 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Along with revenue growth, the company also reported profitability. Bonkers Corner recorded a profit of Rs 4.3 crore during the same financial year.
For a relatively young fashion startup, achieving profitability while continuing to grow is a strong indicator of a sustainable business model.
Rise of Streetwear in India
The growth of Bonkers Corner reflects a broader shift in India’s fashion landscape.
Streetwear has moved from a niche trend to a mainstream fashion category in recent years.
Young consumers today are heavily influenced by social media, global fashion trends, music culture, and celebrity style. This has led to a surge in demand for comfortable, expressive, and casual clothing.
Brands that focus on unique designs and community-driven marketing are seeing rapid growth in this space.
Several Indian startups are now building fashion brands specifically for Gen Z audiences, often using digital-first strategies and influencer collaborations.
What the Funding Means for Bonkers Corner
With the new funding, Bonkers Corner is expected to accelerate its expansion plans.
The company may invest in several areas, including:
Expanding offline retail presence
Improving supply chain and manufacturing capabilities
Launching new product lines
Strengthening marketing and brand building
Expanding its digital and omnichannel experience
As competition in the fashion startup ecosystem grows, access to capital will help Bonkers Corner scale faster and compete with both domestic and international brands.
The Road Ahead
Bonkers Corner’s journey from a startup launched in 2020 to a profitable fashion brand attracting institutional investors highlights the growing potential of India’s fashion startup ecosystem.
With strong revenue growth, investor backing, and a clear focus on youth fashion, the company is positioning itself as a major player in India’s streetwear segment.
As the brand expands its reach and product portfolio, the coming years will be crucial in determining whether Bonkers Corner can evolve into one of India’s leading homegrown fashion labels.
