Electric mobility firm EMotorad has recruited the former CARS24 CEO Himanshu Ratnoo as its Co-Founder in preparation for its next round of growth in the rapidly expanding Indian EV market.
Founded in Pune in 2020, EMotorad focuses on manufacturing low to mid-speed electric mobility two-wheelers and has established itself as one of the top brands in India’s e-bike space. The company already controls more than 75% of the Indian e-bike market and has recorded rapid business growth over the last few years.
Besides building a significant global e-bike white-label business, EMotorad has scaled its business operations extensively and achieved nearly 30x business growth in India within a period of four years.
Ratnoo’s recruitment has been viewed as a strategic executive recruitment that seeks to build operational scale and expand the company’s consumer base. Going forward, the company plans to expand its adoption of electric bicycles and improve its market presence across India.
Himanshu has demonstrated immense expertise in building and scaling high-growth consumer and mobility firms. Prior to joining EMotorad, Ratnoo worked at CARS24 for nearly six years and played a crucial role in scaling business operations and expanding its business footprint.
Ratnoo also worked at various other firms before EMotorad, which included BlackBuck, Meddo Health, foodpanda, Rocket Internet, and Barclays.
He has extensive experience in areas such as operations, logistics, supply chain management, consumer growth, expansion of the business, and strategic implementation. According to the experts in the industry, the expertise of Ratnoo with respect to scaling consumer-oriented businesses will help EMotorad establish its leadership position in the space of electric mobility.
In the coming years, the company is likely to focus more on product innovation, category expansion, operational efficiency, and customer acquisition amid intense competition in India’s EV space. EMotorad is also expected to bolster its international footprint amid rising global demand for sustainable mobility solutions.
The electric mobility ecosystem in India is going through an impressive phase amid high awareness about the environment, government support for EVs, and rising consumer preference for sustainable transport options. Among others, electric bikes are expected to be an important category within the larger segment of electric vehicles due to their affordable nature and convenience.
With the arrival of Ratnoo in the team, EMotorad is expected to speed up its growth strategy along with expanding its footprint in the international markets.
