Electric vehicle maker Ather Energy witnessed better financial results in Q1 of FY27 as it generated ₹1,217 crore in revenue from operations and managed to cut down on its losses to a great extent. Ather Energy saw a 71% reduction in its net loss from the previous year, which shows its steady progress towards becoming a more sustainable business.
These financial results come as a consequence of the increasing presence of Ather in the electric two-wheeler market in India driven by rising consumer demand, improved efficiency, and a better product line-up.
With the EV industry witnessing stiff competition, most of the EV companies are changing their approaches to profitability from expansion to growing in an economical manner.
While Ather Energy continues to make efforts in innovation of its products, building charging networks and stores, as well as boosting manufacturing capability, the company manages to show improved financial performance despite competition in the electric mobility segment.
In India, the market for electric two-wheelers has recorded significant growth in recent years due to positive policies of the government, rising fuel costs, development of charging stations, and increased awareness among consumers regarding sustainable mobility. It is expected that companies with a robust technological foundation and effective operational model will be able to gain advantage as EVs become more common.
The startup Ather has differentiated itself as a luxury brand by offering connectivity through scooters, software-enabled features, and charging solutions. Apart from selling vehicles, the company has been continuously working on enhancing customer experience through digital services and after-sales services.
According to industry experts, managing to cut down on losses and still making money is one of the important achievements of any startup in the electric vehicle industry, as the priority of the investors is sustainable profitability rather than rapid growth only.
By earning revenue worth ₹1,217 crore and cutting its net losses by 71%, Ather Energy has started FY27 from a stronger position.
