There were impressive gains made by Apple India in FY26 with its net profit growing by 66% to reach ₹5,311 crore, while operating revenue grew by 31.4% to ₹1.04 lakh crore.
Apple India is becoming a very important player in the overall corporate strategy of Apple. Apart from the sale of iPhones, the firm is developing local manufacturing capability, expanding its supply chain, and building services that would help it retain and serve customers even after their first purchase.
Apple India’s FY26 Financial Performance
In FY26, the company generated ₹1.04 lakh crore as operating revenue, as compared to the previous financial year, showing growth of 31.4%. Meanwhile, the net profit of the company reached ₹5,311 crore in FY26, registering growth of 66%.
Total expenses were higher too, with an increase of 28% to ₹96,224 crore. Despite higher expenses due to growth in the size of the business, profit growth was faster than the operating revenue growth.
Sources of income for the company are its products which include iPhones, Macs, iPads, and other Apple devices. There are also other services like AppleCare.
The numbers clearly show that Apple is expanding its consumer technology business in India beyond the iPhone alone.
Higher Costs Driving The Growth
In spite of all the good financial results, Apple India incurred higher operating costs for the fiscal year FY26.
The purchase of inventory continued to be its costliest item, which is due to the high volume of products that Apple imports and distributes in the Indian market. The licensing cost was up more than twofold, reaching ₹10,374 crore.
There were higher employee costs and marketing expenditure, too, as the company continues to develop its operations in India.
All these higher costs demonstrate the financial needs of conducting business in a competitive consumer technology industry. Apple needs to keep making the necessary investments in distribution, customer service, marketing, and its ecosystem despite all the profits.
India Emerges as a Significant Manufacturing Hub
Apple’s strategy in India goes beyond selling devices locally. This country has become one of the leading manufacturing centres outside of China, driven by the growth of iPhone assembly and supply chain.
Export of iPhones manufactured in India exceeded ₹2 lakh crore in FY26, demonstrating India’s significance as a supplier in the global supply chain of the company.
Manufacturing helps the company to diversify the geographic location of production while building up production capacities to serve foreign markets. Indian electronics manufacturing industry is also growing thanks to production facilities and infrastructure.
Services Add to Growth
Apple is also developing its services in India. Apart from income through AppleCare and other maintenance contracts, services add to income and to maintaining the ecosystem that keeps customers loyal to Apple products and services.
Expansion of services helps companies to get repeatable income and to build relationships with customers. In case of Apple, the development of services supplements the hardware business.
Apple’s Growth Comes With Component Shortage Risks
Can Apple Maintain Its Performance in India?
The FY26 results of Apple demonstrate that the company is growing in its sales, exports, and services in India. The ₹1.04 lakh crore revenue and the ₹5,311 crore net income speak to the level that Apple managed to reach in the country.
The next stage for the company is going to be to maintain this growth and overcome increased costs and supply chain problems.
While increasing production and services in India, Apple’s results will depend on consumer interest, access to components, and ability to maintain profitability.
