Pulse Bags $4M to Power India-Made Medical Equipment for Global Markets

Bengaluru-based medical equipment startup Pulse has secured $4 million in a seed funding round led by 3one4 Capital. The round also saw participation from Incubate Fund Asia, Stride Ventures, along with several angel investors.

The company plans to use the fresh capital to strengthen its research and development capabilities, accelerate product launches, secure regulatory approvals, and expand its distribution network across India.

Building a Full-Stack Medical Equipment Company from India

Founded in 2025 by Anshul Sharma and Nishant Goel, Pulse positions itself as a full-stack medical equipment manufacturing company. Unlike many players that focus only on trading or assembling imported components, Pulse aims to design, source, and deliver affordable, globally compliant medical devices and consumables from India.

The startup works closely with India’s MSME manufacturing ecosystem. It combines local manufacturing strength with product design, quality systems, regulatory compliance, after-sales service infrastructure, and market access. This integrated approach allows Pulse to control quality while keeping costs competitive.

How the $4 Million Will Be Used

Pulse has outlined clear priorities for deploying the newly raised funds.

Setting Up an R&D Hub

A major portion of the funding will go toward establishing a dedicated research and development hub. This facility will focus on innovation in low and mid-complexity medical equipment and consumables.

The goal is to design products that meet international standards while remaining affordable for Indian hospitals and healthcare providers.

Accelerating Product Development

Pulse plans to fast-track its product roadmap. By investing in design and engineering capabilities, the company aims to bring new medical devices to market faster.

Speed is critical in the healthcare sector, where demand for reliable and cost-effective equipment continues to grow.

Securing Regulatory Certifications

Medical equipment manufacturing requires strict compliance with regulatory standards. Pulse will use part of the capital to secure necessary certifications for both domestic and international markets.

Achieving globally recognized certifications will allow the company to expand beyond India and compete in international markets.

Expanding Distribution Across India

The startup also intends to strengthen its distribution network. By building strong channel partnerships and service infrastructure, Pulse aims to ensure its products are accessible to hospitals, clinics, and healthcare institutions across the country.

Focus on Low and Mid-Complexity Equipment

Pulse is targeting low and mid-complexity medical equipment and consumables categories. These segments represent a large and growing demand, especially in emerging markets where affordability and accessibility are critical.

By focusing on these categories, the company hopes to build a strong foundation before expanding into more complex product lines.

Ambition to Build a Large Horizontal OEM

Pulse’s long-term vision is to build a large horizontal OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) from India. Rather than specializing in a single device category, the company aims to serve multiple medical equipment segments for both domestic and global markets.

This horizontal approach allows the company to diversify risk and tap into broader market opportunities.

The Bigger Opportunity in Medical Devices

According to market research estimates, the global medical devices market is valued at over $550 billion. With healthcare infrastructure expanding worldwide and demand for affordable devices increasing, there is significant room for new players.

India, in particular, has been pushing for stronger domestic manufacturing capabilities in healthcare equipment. Startups like Pulse could play a key role in reducing dependency on imports while also building export-ready products.

Why This Funding Matters

The backing from 3one4 Capital and other investors reflects growing confidence in India’s medical manufacturing ecosystem. Venture capital is increasingly flowing into healthtech and medical device startups that combine innovation with manufacturing capabilities.

For Pulse, this seed round provides the runway needed to invest in R&D, build regulatory credibility, and expand market access.

If executed successfully, the company could position itself as a reliable, India-based OEM serving hospitals both locally and globally.

Pulse’s $4 million seed funding marks an important step toward building a full-stack medical equipment manufacturing platform from India. With a focus on affordable, globally compliant devices and strong ties to the MSME ecosystem, the startup aims to bridge the gap between local manufacturing and international standards.

As the global medical devices market continues to grow, Pulse is betting on innovation, compliance, and scalable manufacturing to carve out its place in a highly competitive industry.
