Kapiva Raises $60 Million—Is This India’s Next Ayurveda Unicorn?

Move over wellness apps and supplement brands—there’s a new ayurveda powerhouse in town. Kapiva, the Indian wellness startup known for its herbal nutrition, gummies, capsules, and skincare, has just raised a massive $60 million to scale research, brand building, and global expansion.

With this round, Kapiva has now raised nearly $90 million since its inception, signaling that investors are betting big on India’s booming herbal wellness market.

Funding Details: Who’s Backing Kapiva

The $60 million round is a mix of:

  • $28 million in primary capital to fuel growth
  • $32 million in secondary transactions, allowing early investors like Fireside Ventures to partially exit

The round began in September 2024 with $10 million from OrbiMed Asia, Vertex Ventures, and 3one4 Capital.

With this funding, Kapiva is now one of the most well-capitalized startups in India’s ayurveda and herbal wellness space.

Kapiva’s Vision: Modern Ayurveda Meets Technology

Founded in 2015 by Ameve Sharma and Shrey Badhani, Kapiva offers over 100 SKUs spanning supplements, gummies, capsules, and skincare. It also provides consultations with Ayurvedic doctors, blending traditional wisdom with modern convenience.

The company plans to use the fresh funds to:

  • Boost R&D for new herbal innovations
  • Expand manufacturing and brand presence
  • Strengthen marketing efforts to reach new customers
  • Grow its health-tech platform, focusing on chronic condition management and personalized care
  • Accelerate international expansion in the UK, US, and UAE, which already contribute 5–10% of revenue

Explosive Growth: Kapiva’s Numbers

Kapiva has grown its presence aggressively:

  • Available in 40,000 offline retail stores across India
  • Available on its website and major ecommerce platforms
  • Operating at an annual revenue run rate of Rs 550 crore, up from Rs 350 crore in FY25
  • Sustained 80%+ year-on-year growth over the past three years

This rapid expansion, combined with strong branding, has positioned Kapiva as one of the fastest-growing ayurveda startups in India.

Why Kapiva Could Be India’s Next Unicorn

The Indian ayurveda and herbal wellness market is projected to hit Rs 3.21 lakh crore by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 17% from 2024. Demand is booming across categories—from skincare to supplements and functional beverages.

Kapiva’s winning formula:

  1. Strong product portfolio—100+ SKUs and constant innovation
  2. Tech-enabled health solutions—personalized care and chronic condition management
  3. Widespread distribution—offline, online, and international markets
  4. Brand credibility and consumer trust—backed by years of growth and investor confidence

Investors are betting that this mix could turn Kapiva into India’s first global Ayurveda unicorn.

The Big Question: Can Kapiva Go Global?

With subsidiaries already set up in the UK, US, and UAE, Kapiva is testing the waters for international adoption. If it succeeds, it could become the face of modern Ayurveda worldwide, combining traditional wisdom with innovation, technology, and style.

As Sharma says:

“This funding allows us to move faster on our vision for Kapiva—to make quality ayurvedic wellness exciting, innovative, and accessible to consumers across India and beyond.”

Bottom Line

Kapiva’s $60 million funding round isn’t just about capital—it’s about ambition, scale, and global vision. With strong growth, tech-enabled healthcare offerings, and expanding international presence, Kapiva is poised to reshape the Ayurveda landscape in India and possibly the world.

The real question is: Will it become India’s next wellness unicorn—or just another fast-growing startup?
